Carey Greene

Carey is a Senior Advisor and Partner with SVN | REA and has more than 20 years of experience in commercial real estate. A native of Miami and long-time Durham resident, Carey earned his undergraduate degree from Duke University and later his MBA with a concentration in real estate from UNC-Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School.

In 2023, Carey formed the Ascend Industrial Team to bring focused expertise to industrial property owners, investors, and tenants across the Triangle and Triad. While industrial real estate is a major emphasis of his practice, Carey also has extensive experience advising clients on office, land, and investment sales transactions. His work spans leasing, dispositions, acquisitions, and long-term strategy to help clients maximize the value of their assets.

Earlier in his career, Carey served as Managing Director at SVN | REA, where he guided brokerage strategy and supported firm-wide growth. He has also worked in property management and participated in adaptive-reuse projects, including the renovation of the historic Snow Building and the redevelopment of the former Home Savings & Loan building into The Durham Hotel.

Outside of real estate, Carey enjoys time with his wife, two children, and rescue dogs. You might find him rucking on Durham’s trails or coaching and volunteering for South Durham Little League.

Brian Alonso

Brian brings lengthy experience in real estate and community building to SVN | REA. A native of Miami, FL, he started his career as an engineer with Ford Motor Company before joining his family’s business in South Florida. Housed in an historic downtown Miami property, Brian co-led his family’s retail operation for 13 years. During this time, Brian also served as President of Dade Heritage Trust and as co-chair of the Flagler Street Taskforce of the Miami Downtown Development Authority. Both organizations are dedicated to improving the community by focusing on historic properties and revitalizing downtown streets.

Since returning to Durham, where he spent his undergraduate years, Brian launched a startup and continued to invest in commercial real estate. He lives with his wife and three children and is an avid outdoorsman and off-road racer outside of work.
